These workshops discuss the basic concepts of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing that have become popular with organizations that are trying to improve the performance of their operations. The one-day session is designed as an Executive Overview and the five-day session is designed as a hands-on Implementation workshop that is usually held on-site. Kaizen is a continuous improvement philosophy and technique that have the following characteristics: Company-wide involvement; Use of teams; Incremental improvements that are long-term and long-lasting; Process and people-oriented; Involves quality of life in the work place; and Improvement efforts applied throughout the company, not just the shop floor. Lean manufacturing and/or business is a philosophy of producing only the product and services needed, at the time it is needed, using only the minimal resources required. The resources include labor, floor space, time and material. These workshops combine both concepts to create a value-added learning experience that will help any company implement continuous and breakthrough improvements throughout the organization.
